Course Description
This is an online self-study course focusing on methods for analysing equity in the distribution of health programme costs and effects and trade-offs between equity and cost-effectiveness. The course is aimed at health economists and health professionals with experience of health economic evaluation, who wish to learn how to use more specialised methods for analysing distributional equity impacts and trade-offs. It is designed for participants who are familiar with standard methods of cost-effectiveness analysis, for example those who have already attended our short courses in Decision Modelling for Health Economic Evaluation. It is envisaged that participants will currently be undertaking cost-effectiveness analysis, or planning to do so in the near future. The course consists of five modules, with each module requiring about three to four hours of time commitment for self-paced study - totalling 15 to 20 hours altogether. Students registering for this “on demand” version of the course will have full access to all teaching materials for self-study, but will not have interactive support from tutors and faculty or the opportunities for networking with other students provided in the “live” version.
How It Works
The course comprises a combination of video lectures and exercises. Students gain 2 months’ access to the materials from the point of enrolment (which will be immediately if you pay by card on the platform, or the date on which your enrolment is activated by the Course Administrator if you pay by invoice or request to start on a specific date) and will work through the video materials and exercises on the platform at a time to suit them. A certificate of completion will be automatically generated by the platform upon 100% completion of the tasks. Please note that there is no tutor support with this version of the course.
The course is available to start immediately. To gain access straight away, click on “Sign up” below to register and pay by credit card. If you require to pay via invoice OR if you wish to start the course on a future date, please send an email to [email protected] stating your name, the course that you wish to sign up for, the invoice address and your desired start date.
